The page consists of 32 lines, ruled in drypoint, with the text beginning below the first line.
The poem is written in eight-line ballade format, written continuously with a space left between stanzas.
The title of the text is slightly larger than the text of the poem proper, marked off on its own line with red lines both above and below.
The text is written throughout in Anglicana.
The beginning letter of each line after the first in a stanza is capitalized and touched in red, and words are periodically underlined in red for emphasis throughout.
The initial letter of each stanza is rendered in red ink and written in Insular. A space is provided in the first stanza of the poem for three line illuminated initial, but this remains empty. A possible guide letter occurs to the left of the margin next to this space, but it is indeterminate whether this is in fact intended to be a guide letter.
