Notes
  1. This panel has been damaged down to the bare wood in many places and the rest of this line is missing.
  2. While damaged, the second word can be determined based on the remnant of the ascender of the third letter and the remnant of the descender on the terminal “y.” The third word can be determined based on the ascender and the remnant of the top bow of the “k” as well as the remnant of the ascender of the “l.” The rest is supplied via reference to elsewhere in the chapel. The horizontal rather than diagonal stroke in the remnant that can be seen at the end of the line indicates “a,” but it lacks additional letters to determine placement.
  3. The hook of the initial letter remnant on the panel indicates “f” or “s,” and the barred ascender in the next visible section indicates “l” or “h.” The actual letters are supplied from reference to the manuscript witnesses, and as the top of the “a” at the beginning of the second word is visible it has been supplied.
  4. This line is very damaged, but most of the letter forms can be made out. The fifth word is indicated by the remnants of “h” and “s” which can be seen. The initial two letters and the remnant of the leftmost minim of the third determine the sixth word. The rest is supplied via context and the manuscript witnesses. The remnant of the initial letter and the left-leaning ascender of the final letter determine the seventh, and the eighth is determined via the remnant of the initial letter and the tittle of the second.
  5. The line is largely missing as the wood itself has been removed and repaired, likely when the shields nailed to the wood throughout were removed. I have only supplied those words within the gap that correspond to the topmost part of the minims still remaining, and the letter forms are determined via reference to the manuscript witnesses and the ascenders and top portions of the letters that remain.
